Cisterna Chyli:

Dilated or widdened beginning of the thoracic lymph duct. It is located near a vetebra in about the middle of the back or the lumbar region. The cisterna chyli receives the two lumbar lymphatic trunks, right and left, and the intestinal lymphatic trunk.

A saclike chamber that receives lymph from the lower abdomen, pelvis and lower limbs and conveys the lymph to the thoracic duct.
