FOXC2 is the gene identified as causing Lymphedema Praecox Meige Syndrome. It is also associated with Lymphedema Distichiasis, Mitral Valve Prolapse, Cleft Palate and Lymphedema Yellow Nail Syndrome. It is also involved in the regulation of insulin and has been investigated as associated with varicose veins.
