Abnormal collection of lymphatic fluid that can occur following surgery. For example, a pararenal lymphocele is seen in 10 % of renal transplants within one month of surgery. It is best visualized by ultrasound as a low echogenicity collection which may have thickened septa and internal debris. If necessary it can be drained under ultrasound guidance.
